Success followed this process with Saminvent's Cable Carrier ( This is what gives me confidence that HeeksCAD and viewed the object from all angles. Only 20% of the original 3D information? I opened the fixed file in Will the prints be better having to process gcode on That is, the repaired STL file is 79% smaller. Submitted to netfabb's online STL repair the resultant file downsized The Original y-idler support *.stl file size was 175KB - small. Service ( ) and theĪ y-idler support bracket by Tom Lombardi and a drag chain componentīy RobK636, respectively, are as follows Ok - results of my STL repair from using netfabb's online STL repair Note: What I refer to below - is free - sort of - Or - on But, the service fixed my file, made it smaller, I don't get the error on gcode generation and the print looked pretty good. I've not installed yet but, it looks very promising. So, I just looked for an Opensource for STL repair and have downloaded MeshLab. They sell software and a competing Repman 3D printer. The service also claims you must own the intellectual property file submitted and tells you that it is going to publish it on the bfb site along with analysizing it for their netfab software upgrades. The service also takes your e-mail address then sends your reponses to the service. The bad: Sometimes the file is stripped of some feature and needs to be re-submitted. It works very quick and well - mostly - AND sometimes makes file size a lot smaller removing stuff we 3d printer types don't need. The good is that you submit your file and the service repairs the file. Anyway - I found netfabb's currently free online beta STL repair tool. I did not understand other then the mesh or 3D file was not quite right. I noticed that Skeinforge through ReplicatorG was giving me some nebulous error messages about the STL it was fed to generate the gcode to. I was having problems with a couple prints. Here's my noob shoot from the hip possible dumb discussion entry for the day.
